Awsome fashion dress

This dress and i had a long engagement beginning the moment i saw it on Be the Buyer and thought, "This has to be mine." Well, we're happily united now, and let me tell you about it: I wore this dress out for the first time this past weekend. Must have had about 4-5 people stop me to compliment it. The dress' pattern is gorgeous and the cut is incredibly flattering...so flattering in fact, you can't even tell it's a bit big on me. Now granted, I've a boy-ish, big-time runner's frame, but XS usually fits me like a charm. For this dress, though, I'll have to take in the waist or back darts and shorten the shoulders so that the wings have ample room to stand up. My one gripe with the quality is that I thought the wings would have interfacing in them to help them stand up. It's just double-layered fabric as far as I can tell, but I do think that once I shorten the straps, the wings won't have much of a problem (not that its a huge issue now, as you can see from the photo). All in all, a ridicously good-looking dress that I'd highly recommend
The cut, the length, the colors... all perfect! It looks great on its own, but really shines with a little - or a lot - of poof from the Va Va Voluminous Petticoat. There have been several comments left regarding the wings at the shoulders. I am an ironing fiend and found that ironing them flat helps to keep them from flopping over. A little starch will keep them erect and pronounced or some double stick tape will hold them tight and subdued. You could also stitch them down if you prefer the subtle look. I have several Bernie Dexter dresses and have never been disappointed. The quality is great and the fit is good. When it comes to the dry clean only instructions on the tag - I have never dry cleaned any of my Bernie Dexter dresses. I always wash in cold water and hang to dry. I have not had any issues laundering them like this, but use your own judgement. I made some "ruby slippers" to go with and got no end of compliments. My only regret is that I got the XS instead of the S because at the time it was the only size in stock and I wasn't convinced the dress would be restocked. As a result, I did have red marks above my armpits at the end of the day, but it was a small price to pay. Otherwise the bodice was a bit tight in the abdominal region, but the rest of the dress fit fine. Love the pockets
